Happy Kindness Day!

Hello everyone!

Happy Kindness Day! :D

Yesterday, the FOS Ambassadors decided to celebrate Kindness Day in advance by thanking the unsung heroes of our school, namely the cleaners, security guards and administrative staff! :)

So, what did we do? We decided to give each and every one of them a rose!

Luckily for us, most of them were at the staff meeting, which made it very easy for us to find them! As for those who weren't at the meeting, it took us a while to look for them but in the end, it was all worth it.

The security guard wasn't there so we left him a note as well. :)

Their reactions were very heartwarming and it was very sweet. ♡ They looked so surprised and elated that it made us feel all fuzzy inside. Hehe.

I feel that this is one of my favourite projects that we have done so far because we really wanted to do something for Kindness Day and this really hit the mark. All the running around was worth it the moment we saw how shocked and excited they all were.

I really love this project.

Signing off,
Nicole

Side note: Special thanks to Miss Hafizah for getting the roses and to Li Ling for helping me upload the photos. :)

Just A (Not So) Short Thank You Note

Hello again. :D

Miss Hafizah and Xiao Xuan just calculated the money that we received from Project Playlist. In total, we have received $39, which means that we had received around 80 requests. Honestly, I think that's amazing and all of us are very proud that this project was successful.

From the bottom of my heart (as well as from the rest of Singa's best friends), no amount of "thank you"s would ever express our gratitude due to your unwavering support.  Ever since our very first project in Term 2, all of you have been very enthusiastic and excited about what's to come next and I believe that that was what drove us to make sure that each project was the best that it could be.

This blog has received more than 700 views, which is so much more than I could ever hope for. It is a documentation of our projects, our efforts, and most importantly,  your support and sparks of kindness. I felt that writing this post was necessary because we never know how precious a moment is until it becomes a memory. And with that, I have finished my not so little thank you note.

Once again, like always, thank you.

Sincerely,
Singa's Best Friends

Wishboard Update!

Hello everyone!

This afternoon, we just updated our Wishboard and made some new rules for it. :) We call it 'The Five Commandments'

Priyanka spent lots of time trying to make The Commandments rhyme, and Claire also spent lots of time trying to write The Commandments neatly. :D

We also had a new theme for the Wishboard!

The theme is pretty self explanatory, and hopefully we can see many messages on the board tomorrow. :)

All right, that's all from me. Have a great day!

Project Say It! and Project Playlist

Hey there!

Last Wednesday (14 May), our school held our first CCA Day. CCA Day, also known as Camaraderie, was a day when various CCAs went to find out more about the other CCAs in our school. The Interact Club had our own booth where we sold popsicles and allowed people to write well wishes on our chalkboard for Project Wishboard. In addition to that, we asked if TKGians wanted to dedicate some songs to their friends or teachers for Project Playlist, so that we could play the songs and read their messages out loud during Sports Day.

Also, we conducted Project Say It! during Camaraderie.  As I mentioned in our earlier blog post, Project Say It! is a project where TKGians and teachers can say something nice and encouraging to someone by using a loudhailer that the FOS ambassadors set up. Mr Ken helped us place the loudhailer at the canteeen during recess and we invited anyone and everyone to say something nice.

Our teachers, Miss Munira and Mr Yong (whose picture we forgot to take), also came in to say something nice to their students!

Overall, Project Say It! was extremely fun as some students shared some jokes, sang songs and said some "lame pick up lines" just to make others smile. The teachers also came up and encouraged their students to study hard and thanked them for being cooperative, which was an extremely sweet gesture. ♥

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Next up was Project Playlist. Sports Day was held last Friday (16 May) and we had Project Playlist on that day. We played songs like Counting Stars by One Republic, Don't Stop by 5 Seconds Of Summer, and many others.

Each dedication cost 50 cents and the money collected was given to the Needy Pupil Fund. Katherine, Chloe and Claire were in charge of playing the songs, while Xiao Xuan collected the money for the Fund and Priyanka helped to collect the dedications. Li Ling, Chloe, Tammie and I read out the dedications, and for one dedication Tammie was asked to read it out in an accent, which was hilarious.

The response was overwhelming and even after we had stopped requesting for dedications, many people still asked if they could dedicate more messages! Eventually, we accepted more of them as the Sports Day was paused due to a lightning alert. However, at that point, we had already played most of the songs. :( Thus, we began to take dedications AND song requests. Some teachers even dedicated songs to their students and colleagues.  :)

Overall, these two Projects have been wildly successful and once again, all of us would like to sincerely thank you for your continuous support.  ♥  Special thanks to Mr Ken for setting up the loud hailer for us and Miss Hafizah for asking permission on behalf of the FOS ambassadors to have Project Playlist during Sports Day. Your little sparks of kindness have made our projects a success.

And We're Back!

Hey guys!

Our exams are finally over, which means our blog's hiatus is over too. :) In our previous post, we posted a picture of Project Wishboard in motion, but I didn't elaborate a lot about it. Sorry about that. So, to make up for it, here are more pictures and then some more stuff about Project Wishboard!

We started Project Wishboard just before the Mid-Year Exams started and we asked our teachers and TKGians to wish each other good luck for their exams, or, as we call it, 'Strike a Wish'. we set up a decal chalkboard, provided some chalk, and placed them at the foyer.

We started with a few messages...

 Then more...

Eventually, we had so many messages we had to have another board just to fit it all in!

As of now, the board is still up and people are still writing on it. Once again, all of Singa's best friends would like to thank everyone for their continuous support and enthusiasm.  ♡
